Learning Guitar started in my late teens and continues to this day. In the 1970s, like many others, my learning commenced with Bert Weedon’s infamous paperback ‘Play in a Day’.
Later learning alone gave way to a ten week ‘Pay as You Play’ course offered by a local music store. A weekly lesson on my nylon string, Spanish style acoustic guitar led to owning the guitar. I continued with the same tutor for a few months of private lessons.
In 2018 I enrolled with the adult guitar class at Kirklees Musica Rock School to develop lead guitar playing a little. To be honest with mixed success.
For quite some time my guitar playing development was driven by Justin Sandercoe, his YouTube channel and his intermediate course text.
Recently I started to make make use of the similarly named but unrelated and again local Kirklees Guitar School’s video lessons and Facebook group. Whilst this free resource is excellent I decided to try some face-to-face lessons at the school in nearby Denby Dale.
