My final two rehearsals for summer 2026 at Soul Choir were held at Holmfirth Picturedrome. However we were not in the now familiar main theatre, as last encountered for the Northern Soul event. Instead, given the heat, we took to the outdoor courtyard which was a little fresher and a new space to me. It was set up to use for viewing the Fifa World Cup football matches on a huge screen mounted on the wall.

Those two rehearsals had really good vibes, we enjoyed the setting and the freedom to sing favourites without the constraint of a looming concert. Truly a return to singing for fun in Holmfirth!

Dan shared with us the possibility of holding another Northern Soul event given the success of last October’s event. I would very much look forward to that.

He also shared with us that we’re set to return to St Barts for the second time this year, this time for the Marsden Jazz Festival in October.
